Research Assistant Training Guide : Locating Court Documents

How to Access a Docket on Bloomberg Law

  • Use the <Go> Bar: search by docket number or party name
  • Or, click on Specialized Searches --> Dockets
  • Or, click on Litigation & Dockets --> Search Dockets

Request and View Docket Entries

If the docket entry you are looking for is already in the Bloomberg System, you can view it directly by clicking "View" under "Action".

If the "Action" for your entry is "Request", it means that this document has never been requested and viewed before, and therefore not stored in the system. All you need to do is to click "Request" and wait for the system to retrieve them, if possible. You will get an email notification once the document is retrieved and ready to view. Bloomberg has waived the collection fee for academic users.
