National Law Library

Cornell University Legal Information Institute

Cornell University Law School's Legal Information Institute has put together a federal courts webpage that provides access to each federal court's judicial opinion web page (as shown below). This page also includes a link that allows you to search opinions from all federal circuit courts at the same time.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar includes both federal and state legal opinions. From the main Google Scholar search page, select the radio button for "Legal opinions and journals." Type your case citation or case name in the search box and click the Search button.  Keyword searches of the full text of case opinions may also be conducted from this screen.  To select a jurisdiction or to refine a search, click on Advanced Scholar Search. Scroll to the bottom of the advanced search form to select a jurisdiction. In the screen shot below, the jurisdiction has been limited to California state cases:

To search for a case by name, enter one or more party names in the box at the top labeled “with all of the words,” and, in the menu box labeled “where my words occur,” select “in the title of the article” (as shown below).
