1L Success Guide Legal Research: Tutorials

Lexis has several tutorials to familiarize students with the how to's of legal research. 

• CALI lessons provide students with the opportunity to test themselves on specific concepts.

• Library Resources contain links to hornbooks and treatises which can be used to summarize and explain issues related to legal research and writing.

• Westlaw and LexisNexis tutorials can be used to gain experience in searching and accessing databases on the Westlaw and Lexis systems.

Westlaw tutorials are available under the "Home" tab on the Westlaw law school homepage (lawschool.westlaw.com). There are numerous 10 minute exercises on various topics, including: case law searching, statutory research, and secondary source research.
