Special Tribunal for Cambodia
Formally known as the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC), this court was established by agreement between the United Nations and Cambodian government to try the most senior leaders of the Khmer Rouge responsible for crimes and serious violations of Cambodian and international criminal and humanitarian law committed during the period from 17 April 1975 to 6 January 1979.
