Free basic information for public corporations from all over the world.

A corporate-oriented wiki. User-submitted information tends to focus highly on tech companies, although others are included as well. Has interesting information you may not find on the more standard corporate directories.

Aggregates information in a similar manner to Yahoo. Also provides direct links to the most pertinent parts of a company's website. Google Finance also provides basic information on private companies, and is beta-testing versions for Canada and the U.K. (and for Hong Kong and China, but keep in mind that those sites are published in Chinese).

Very easy to use and intuitive company information. Tables of competitor companies and earnings vs. estimates are nice free extras. Reuters also provides some information on foreign corporations not traded in the United States.

Collection of business research resources provided by the University of Tennessee. These resources include PrivCo (for researching private companies), Mergent, Business Info, and much more. They can only be accessed in person at Hodges Library or by a person affiliated with the university (faculty, staff, or student).

Research Tennessee registered businesses and find type of business association, mailing address, principal place of business, assumed names and d/b/a's, a brief history of changes to annual statement, and registered agent for service of process.
